YOUTH FOOTBALL: Arsenal Football Club will be holding a soccer school at Martin Junior School, Plane Tree Walk, East Finchley, on Tuesday May 27 until Friday May 30 (10am to 3pm daily).
Budding footballers have the opportunity to make new friends and improve their soccer skills.
The school is for boys and girls aged seven to 12.

* Ministry of Football, an innovative new football programme, is now operating in the Barnet area.
The scheme uses high-quality coaching in skill activities, and small-sided games to promote creativity and self-expression. Dance music is often played during games to help build a positive, fun, high-tempo atmosphere.
Ministry of Football is different from other programmes. It is not just another football session where coaches tell children what to do. But it is also not just fun and games. Players at Ministry of Football sessions follow a set syllabus, designed to help children become innovative, confident problem solvers. Whereas most elite football coaching programmes in London use people to develop football, Ministry of Football uses football to develop people.
Ministry of Football runs one-hour sessions at weekends or after school, usually catering for a maximum of 24 children aged between five and 14. All abilities are welcome and a free taster session is available.
The idea is for children to learn through play.

CYCLING: Wins eluded Finchley Racing Team this weekend, but fast-improving South African Werner Otto came close in the Essex Criterium, held at the Ford Test Track at Dunton.
He finished second in the leading breakaway group, from a 60-plus field.
Elsewhere in Essex, at the Andrews Trophy Race held over 80 miles at East Hanningfield, Colombian star Edgar Medellin finished eighth from a classy field of riders much younger than himself, having been in all the breakaway groups in what was a fast and turbulent race.
John McMillan will be going for the National over-50s' Criterium Championship at the Milton Keynes Bowl on Monday.
BADMINTON: The 2007/8 season was the best for Hertfordshire badminton since the formation of the National Premier divisions more than 15 years ago.
Three senior county teams won their divisions; the second team came out top in the Division One play-offs and move into Premier B next season and the 17-21 age group team reached the semi-finals of county championships.
The first county team won Premier B in convincing style and move straight back into the top flight.
BOWLS: Mill Hill Bowls Club have enjoyed some good matches so far this season. They saw off Borehamwood Bowls Club 104-83 and Roundwood Park Bowls Club 78-55 in two mixed games. Meanwhile, the ladies had a good 57-49 win over Lupton Bowls Club.
GOLF: Golfers from all over the capital and beyond flocked to the London Golf Show at the ExCeL Centre.
More than 20,000 people attended over the three days.
