A teenager was hit violently round the head and robbed by another youth in Finchley on Friday night.

The 17-year-old was walking home through Alexandra Grove at around 9pm when he was attacked by the suspect, thought to be an 18-year-old man.

He demanded the victim hand over his ipod Nano, which he did. The suspect snatched it and was then seen to run off towards Ballards Lane.

Police were informed and took the victim on a drive round the area with the aim of identifying his attacker.

They were unable to track the youth, but he is described as a black male, approximately 5ft 10in with short black hair and sideburns.

On Sunday night, a gang of around seven people robbed two victims in Hendon Park, Queens Road.

A 21-year-old woman and 25-year-old man had their coats and other possessions taken by the gang as they walked through the area at around midnight.

Police are appealing for witnesses to both incidents, and are urging anyone with information to call them on 020 8200 1212. Calls can be made anonymously.
